Upping My Fruit Intake

 So, I will admit that I am an adult that doesn't get enough fruits and vegetables in her diet. Before you gasp in horror, its not because I don't like the taste of them, well not all of them, but because of the texture. Strange, I know. However, in the effort of going healthy, I have begun making smoothies. I found if I puree the crap out of the offending produce, I can drink it without qualm. Besides, if I can slam two shots of Patron, I should be able to drink something that is not detrimental to my liver...

Anyway. I started making smoothies Sunday. Using my Magic Bullet, I blended:


1c ice
2/3c pomegranate juice
1/3 of a banana (I dont like the taste of bananas)
1 oz aloe vera juice (for digestion and skin benefits) 
1c of frozen mixed berries
and a dollop of yogurt (texture and taste issues here, too)


I made three batches of this last night, freezing two in separate 1 quart sized ziplock bags. The third I put in my adult sippy cup, aka CamelBak, for this morning.


I'll keep you posted on other ingredients I begin to play around with. Until then, happy sipping.
